How to Download Firmware for Extreme Networks Products

Objective

How to download firmware and configuration guide for Extreme Networks products.

Environment

  • All Extreme Networks products and all firmware versions
  • ExtremeXOS (BlackDiamond, Summit, E4G) and WM3000 Series
  • EOS, SecureStack, S/K/7100-Series, ExtremeWireless (IdentiFi and WiNG), Management, Control, Analytics, Security, AirDefense and Legacy Products

Procedure


Currently the downloads are not all in one location. ExtremeXOS (BlackDiamond, Summit, E4G) and WM3000 Series are located on the Extreme Portal. EOS, SecureStack, S/K/7100-Series, ExtremeWireless (IdentiFi and WiNG), Management, Control, Analytics, Security, WiNG, AirDefense and Legacy Products are located on the extranet. 

ExtremeXOS (BlackDiamond, Summit, E4G) and WM3000 Series Products:
  1. Log in to the Extreme Portal 
  2. Firmware can be downloaded on the Extreme Portal in two places: the Products page and the Downloads page
  • The Products page groups the files together by release in a tree structure and this can be a very helpful feature. If you are looking for all the related files for a certain version please use the Products page. The Downloads page is best when you need to quickly find and download a single file
  1. Downloads page: Select the All Downloads option
  2. Use the Advanced button to filter by Family, Release Type, Date and other options
  3. You can also search by file name, product name, serial number and other options
  4. Click on the Download Name to initiate the download
  5. Important: in most cases you will need to enable an exception for https://extremeportal.force.com to allow pop ups see Download File Does Not Start for Downloads in the Extreme Portal: for details
    • Some downloads may request a serial number to be entered prior to download
    • Some downloads may ask for Trade Compliance acknowledgement prior to download
  6. In some situations, the Extreme Portal may present an option where you must Request Access to the download the item
  7. If you do not see the items that you need or think that you are entitled to on the Products page or the Downloads page please use the built in features of the Extreme Portal to request access. If you have any issues with that process, please contact GTAC or e-mail portal@extremenetworks.com

EOS, SecureStack, S/K/7100-Series, ExtremeWireless (IdentiFi and WiNG), Management, Control, Analytics, Security, WiNG, AirDefense and Legacy Products:
  1. Use this link to go to the extranet downloads page
  2. If you do not have an extranet account, register here: https://secure.extremenetworks.com/register.aspx
  3. Select the appropriate product family and then the product
  4. The Firmware sub-tab will be present for EOS, SecureStack, S/K/7100-Series, ExtremeWireless (IdentiFi and WiNG), Management, Control, Analytics, Security, WiNG, AirDefense and Legacy products
  5. Select the Firmware sub-tab
  6. The Firmware page should display the resources that you are entitled to. If you do not see the items that you need or think that you are entitled to, please contact GTAC or e-mail portal@extremenetworks.com
